How to Correctly Clean Robot Coupe R2N Food Processor

You need the right tools for slicing, dicing, and shredding ingredients.

When it comes to any type of food preparation, a food processor is a crucial commercial food prep equipment in any commercial kitchen. That’s one reason why many busy restaurant kitchen staff rely on the Robot Coupe R2N to prepare food. This commercial food processor can easily slice, shred, and chop any ingredient and food material. Along with proper maintenance and care, proper disassembly is important when cleaning the food processor.

Here are the instructions on correct cleaning procedures for Robot Coupe Processor:

How to Clean Robot Coupe R2N

First, disassemble the Robot Coupe Processor. All of the attachments listed below can be washed in a dishwasher machine or three-tank system pot sink.

  • The stainless steel bowl (or the composite bowl/ replacement bowl)
  • Food Processor Blade
  • Bowl Lid
  • Continuous feed attachment and continuous feed lead
  • Pushers
  • Food Processor Discs (Slicing discs, grating disc, dicing disc, Julienne Disc)
  • discharge plates

Pre-rinse the attachments before washing to remove any bulk food on the parts. A stiff bristle brush or power sprayer faucet attachment is effective in knocking the food out of the crevices as a pre-rinse procedure. The washer should have an industry-standard wash, rinse, and sanitization cycle. Allow the parts to air dry after sanitizing and before re-assembly

Steps in Cleaning Blade Assembly Attachments

Clean the blade according to local health department regulations. Before you begin cleaning Robot Coupe Processor, be sure to wear gloves. Here is the cleaning process for the blade assembly attachments.

  1. First, remove the power cord from the wall socket.
  2. Remove the blade cap carefully by pulling it away from the food processor's blade.
  3. Remove the attachments (whether it's the vegetable attachment or cutter bowl attachment). Remove each attachment from the blade. The blade cap may simply be pulled off by carefully peeling it away from the blade.
  4. Before pre-rising, remove any food particles and remnants by spraying water through the attachment or brushing off the parts. Make sure to avoid using abrasive cleaning tools.

  5. Wash the attachments in a dishwashing machine. The removable parts are safe for use in a dishwashing machine, so place them in a machine with the appropriate cycle. They should be dried before reassembly. Washing hands with warm water and mild soap in a sink can help prolong the life of these parts. High temperatures in the dishwasher can damage the plastic and rubber parts of the dishwasher. Do not use cleaning products that contain ammonia.
  6. If necessary, clean the exterior. Check by the handle and inside the continuous feed area.

Steps in Cleaning the Motor Base

When cleaning the base, never immerse it in water. You should be cleaning the area with a damp cloth or sponge.

  1. Unplug the processor. Start by unplugging the unit’s power cord from the wall outlet.
  2. Use a dampen cloth or sponge to clean your face. Warm-up a damp cloth or sponge in the soap and water.
  3. Clean the base carefully using a cloth with water or a sponge.
  4. Clean around the shaft seal with a small brush.
  5. Clean the motor shaft by using the same brush to clean it.
  6. Wash the motor base with clean water. Use a clean, slightly damp cloth to wipe down the motor base, making sure not to get any water into the bearing holes.
  7. Wipe down the motor base to clean off any water or sanitizer residue and seal any cracks.

Maintenance Tips

Apart from regular cleaning, you need to perform the following routine maintenance to avoid damage

Check the Motor Seal and Replace it if necessary.

Check the motor seal regularly throughout the year. To avoid wear or erosion, have the seal replaced every three to six months by an authorized service agent.

Make sure to sharpen the Blades

You can keep the blades sharp by regularly sharpening them, or you can replace them if they're significantly dull.

  1. Before sharpening the blades, put on cut-resistant gloves to protect yourself from accidentally cutting yourself.
  2. Place the blade on an edge. Hold down or clap one of the blades on an edge or sturdy table's corner.
  3. Sharpen the tip first. Then move the stone into the blade edge by pulling from the tip to the hub.
  4. Sharpen the bottom side of the blade. Flip the knife over and repeat the process.
  5. Repeat the process on both blades. With both blades, repeat steps 2- 4.
  6. Wash the blades by hand. If you wash them in a dishwasher, be sure to rinse them well.
  7. Replace blade onto shaft and reattach to continuous feed vegetable prep
